modesty meets fashion

Islamic clothing is clothing that is interpreted as being by the teachings of Islam. Muslims wear a wide variety of clothing, which is influenced not only by religious considerations, but also practical, cultural, social, and political factors. In modern times, some Muslims have adopted clothing based on Western traditions, while others wear modern forms of traditional Muslim dress, which over the centuries has typically included long, flowing garments Besides its practical advantages in the climate of the Middle East, loose-fitting clothing is also generally regarded as conforming to Islamic teachings, which stipulate those body areas which are sexual in nature must be hidden from public view. Traditional dress for Muslim men has typically covered at least the head and the area between the waist and the knees, while traditional women's dress conceals the hair and the body from the ankles to the neck

Islamic dress is influenced by two scriptural sources, the Quran and hadith The Quran provides guiding principles believed to have come from Allah. while the body of the hadith describes a human role model through the traditions of the Islamic prophet Muhammad (SAW) The branch of the fashion industry influenced by Islamic principles is known as Islamic fashion

When modest fashion landed on runways across the world , it seemed like a turning point in fashion. Brands were ready to embrace modest-dressing consumers.

For Muslim fashion influencers on social media, they believe finding premium brands that design modest clothing is a constant challenge. The independent designers like Daily Paper and Louella. “It’s definitely hard to shop as a Muslim person, think luxury houses are really lacking — yes, they are becoming more diverse and are trying to be more inclusive, but they’re still very Muslim limited.”

The modest fashion market is growing, providing ample opportunities for luxury brands — after all, there are more than 1.8 billion Muslims. It encompasses consumers who choose to dress modestly for religious and cultural reasons through to those who do so for stylistic choices. The largest markets for modest fashion include Iran, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, with strong growth predicted for countries such as Indonesia.

This opens up new frontiers for luxury brands. “Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, has been identified as a possible new hub for luxury items. Nigeria also has a high potential for luxury goods with its large Muslim population and abundance of high-net-worth individuals,”

The modest dresser in the US or Europe often has different wants and needs to the modest dresser in the Middle East or Asia-Pacific. Many women in the West put the emphasis more on fashion

Few luxury brands market “hijab” or “head coverings” despite offering scarves long enough to cover the hair, ears, and neck. Across the UK and US, Louis Vuitton and Dolce & Gabbana are the only luxury sites to have stocked products labeled as “hijab”, “head coverings” or “headscarves” in the past three months, along with multi-brand retailers Liberty, Nordstrom, Selfridges, Farfetch, MatchesFashion, Mytheresa, Flannels, Nordstrom, Luisaviaroma, and Net-a-Porter. Although limited brands are providing these products, head covering options have increased by 47 percent year on year.

Levels of modest dressing can fluctuate from country to country. For example, in France, the wearing of the hijab has become a politically charged and divisive issue (the wearing in public places of the face-covering burqa is banned). A modest capsule without variation or nuance demonstrates a lack of understanding of Muslim consumers. “

fashion has evolved for centuries not for western wear but for Islamic #modest wearing the need to understand the purpose of fashion is important. fashion means comfort +style it never was to expose body but with liberalization came new designers who had a different perspective as the world moved to liberal clothing Islamic clothes saw the stability which made it look religious or old but as the world changed fashion world saw much modest fashion designer as Islam continues the race of becoming worlds largely accepted religion racing with Christianity  . customers need to understand there demands as well the religious reason of clothing to promote such cause of introducing modesty with fashion ...
